FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: process of image generation by placement of fixed point light sources in space and modulation of their luminance includes an additional mirror in which an observer sees an image of light sources. The mirror rotates at angular velocity of 20-200 rev/s, and each light source image in the mirror moves by circular arc, where luminosity of each arc sector depends on luminosity of respective light source in that moment. The light sources are modulated so, that combination of circular arcs with variable luminosity matched the desired image. Rotation angle of the mirror is synchronised, so that in the beginning moment of next frame the angle between mirror surface and a line connecting observer's pupils was the same during the whole image demonstration session. The mirror is placed on a platform rigidly bound to observer's head at the distance of 1-10 cm from observer's eye. Angular speed of the mirror is adjusted in time, so that it performs rotational oscillation. To produce 3D image a second additional mirror is used. Both mirrors are placed a platform rigidly bound to observer's head, so that one mirror is at the distance s=1-10 cm from one eye of observer, and another mirror is at the distance s from another eye of observer. Angular speed of the mirrors is adjusted in time, so that they perform rotational oscillation. A mirror is a flat plate with mirror surfaces on both sides of the plate, or regular N-angular prism with mirror side facets rotating around axis of symmetry. Modulated light sources are light diodes with horizontal beam angle of 60-120 degrees, or semiconductor lasers with narrow beam angle, directed so that their light beam falls to the mirror.
EFFECT: simpler construction.
