METHOD FOR GENERATION OF HIGH-DEFINITION STEREO IMAGE AND FLAT SCREEN WHICH IMPLEMENTS SAID METHOD Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

Abstract RU 2124277 C1

FIELD: TV equipment. SUBSTANCE: during transmission each R, G B video signal pixel is encoded by eight-bit binary code which carries information about position of given point with respect to its distance as number of layer (cut) of space of observed picture. Then this signal is displayed on flat rotating screen which is equipped with rotating base. On first side electronic memory, synchronization and switching unit is located; its second side, which is directed towards observer, carries sets of light-emitting diodes, which are controlled by digital codes. When image pixels are viewed through optical members of two types, total light flow from remote and close elements is perceived by observer, since frequency of blinking elements is greater than critical one. So, by alternation of intensity of remote and close elements we can achieve arbitrary position of pixel with respect to its distance within stereo base range defined by characteristics of optical elements. When no information is available about position of pixels with respect to their distance, screen displays flat picture. EFFECT: design of flat screen with stereo information displaying, decreased number of switching elements without loss of resolution, increased screen size, increased observation angle, compatibility with existing TV standards. 2 cl, 6 dwg
