FIELD: electric networks.

SUBSTANCE: when zero-sequence voltage is detected, one of power transformer low voltage bus bars is connected to the ground through current-limiting resistance, and current increase is registered in line with ground fault, at that series of short-term periodical connections of this phase to the ground is carried out, number of pauses is registered between periodical, short-term current buildups, which occur in sections of spreading lines that are equipped with section breakers, and if number of pauses is equal to ordinal number of one of its sections, when counting from the end of the line, it is disconnected with section breaker, and with the help of above mentioned pauses number up to the moment of current reduction in line with ground fault, ordinal number of disconnected section of line with ground fault is identified.

EFFECT: increase of reliability and safety of electric network.
