FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to high cross-country capacity vehicles, in particular, to oversnow and overmarsh vehicles. The caterpillar attachment consists of a frame accommodating two rows of track rollers, guide wheels and a track tensioner. The vehicle is placed with its wheels on the tracks so that the wheels are arranged approximately above the track rollers. The caterpillar attachment frame is attached to the vehicle frame by two unparallel pivoted tie-rods. The vehicle braking system allows a separate braking of the LH and RH wheels, or, at least, of one LH and one RH wheel. As a result, the vehicle can run over hard terrain, in deep snow or over a soft ground. Note that the said attachment can be used with whatever type of vehicles.
EFFECT: simple design, ease of manufacture.
