FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to rolling production and can be used on bar and tube rolling mills. The mill contains a rolling stand with a pair of horizontal and vertical sector rolls. The stand is assembled on a frame and travels reciprocally. Each roll has an individual drive, including an electric motor, a universal spindle and a crankshaft pivotally hinged via a connecting rod to the mill frame. Sector rolls consist of idle and cogging portions. Cogging rolls are made with an alternate radius. The length of the cogging portion of the roll of a horizontal pair rotating with increment of a gap between their working surfaces is bigger than the length of the corresponding portion of another pair at a value m(λ + 1)/2, where m is a workpiece supply, and λ is workpiece drawing.
EFFECT: reduction of process equipment weight.
