FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to single-pass welding of metals with custom made coated electrodes, and namely to the coating composition for the protection of the surface of welded products from the adhesion of splashes of molten metal during arc welding by fusion. The composition contains a concentrate of sulfite alcohol spent liquor, soap, soda ash, kaolin, water and 40% solution of methyl alcohol with the following content of components, mass %: sulfite alcohol spent liquor 10.5, soap 3.7, soda ash 3.7, kaolin 8.5, water 68, 40% solution of methyl alcohol 5.6.
EFFECT: guarantee of easy application of coating and its good fluidity at negative temperatures.
