FIELD: propulsion engineering.

SUBSTANCE: time is measured during which a preset number of cyclic pick-up-run-outs is effected to be compared with reference values for the given engine type. The results of comparison allow estimating the engine state proceeding from the free pick-up total time and the engine mechanical loss moment is judged upon proceeding from the total free run-out time.

EFFECT: improvement of the dynamic (brakeless) engine state test method using the entire range of transient engine characteristics and higher test accuracy.
