SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for sealing various units and details of movable and fixed joints, including gases or liquids under pressure. The sealing of movable and fixed joints consists of a sealing element, a pair to be sealed and pressing elements. The sealing element cross-section section is an oval which greater axis, in a free condition, is inclined relative to the pair being sealed, while the pressing elements surfaces made oval with greater inclined to the same direction the oval greater axis is inclined at the angle exceeding the inclination of the latter.

EFFECT: higher durability and reliability of sealing.
