FIELD: physics, measurements.
SUBSTANCE: invention pertains to the technology of navigation and control of space orientation of moving objects. The integrated optical gyroscope uses a multirun coil on planar stripe waveguides, which do not intersect with each other in the plane of a common substrate, made in such a way that, around (or inside) the primary planar loop of the interferometer there is a system of several concentric waveguide rings, joined to each other and to the primary loop by X-shaped couplers with tapping factor closer to one. Using such a method, up to N=30 turns in the coil can be realised, which, if the diameter of the plate equals 150 mm, corresponds to an equivalent length of the waveguide of approximately LN=15 m. Due to the increased equivalent length of the loop of the interferometer, the frequency of the optical phase modulation can be lowered to a few mega hertz, which considerably increases accuracy of the gyroscope.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of the gyroscope.
