FIELD: physics, measurements.
SUBSTANCE: invention pertains to methods of non-destructive control using penetrating substances. The method involves treating the test object with a set of flaw-detection materials, positioned in a dark chamber, illuminated by radiation in the visible light range. The image of the defects is recorded using a digital still camera. The flaw-detection materials are removed from the surface of the test object and the whole procedure is repeated using the controlled set of flaw-detection materials. After that, the image is transmitted to a computer and quantitative analysis of the controlled flaw-detection materials is carried out, based on calculation and comparison of brightness and gradient of brightness of the images of defects, obtained using standard and controlled set of flaw-detection materials.
EFFECT: increased objectiveness of evaluation, as well as the possibility of obtaining digital images of defects, their documentation and storage on a computer.
