FIELD: magnetic-field testing of material and articles. SUBSTANCE: the magnetic-field flaw detector has a power unit, electromagnet and an indicating package. The indicating package has magnetic liquid. A flat coil that erases the images in the indicating package after the use is flexibly fastened at the ends of the electromagnet in its interpole space. The indicating package is suspended from the coil lower plane. The image in the package may be well preserved for several days and serve as a documentary confirmation of a flaw in the article. EFFECT: enhanced capacity of test and reduced consumption of flaw-detection materials due to multiple recording and erasure of image. 2 cl, 3 dwg
