EQUIPMENT FOR PICKING-UP CUCURBITS CROPS Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC A01D51/00 

FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the agricultural machinery, particularly to the equipment for harvesting cucurbits crops. The device consists of the swath making tractor, the roller and close chain loop. The hoisting chain of the loop is inclined opposing to the movement direction. The conveying loop comes over the chain loop from outside. The flexible paddles are fixed rigidly with the chain and conveying loops. Every paddle of the chain loop has [-shape. The swath maker of the picker has shims mounted on the carrier bar. The swath making device, including the carrier bar, is installed in front of the tractor. The shims are fixed pivotally to the carrier bar using drawbars and are mounted at an angle 65...70° towards horizon and 40...45° towards the movement direction. The swath making device is fixed with the carrier bar using pressure springs. There is a protecting flexible curtain attached to the drawbars in the upper part of the shims. The forward working surface of the shims is made in the form of set of flexible rollers with axles allocated on the rear nonoperating part of the shim. Distance between rollers' axles and rollers' diameter can be calculated using formula: rollers' diameter d=0.3 d_av - distance between roller's axles t=0.3 d_av, where d_av is average diameter of picked up fruits. The productivity and reliability of service improves while damaging of fruits decreases.

EFFECT: improvement of productivity and reliability of service decrease of fruits damage.
