FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: device includes fixation unit for fixation of fixation element to optic fiber and splitting unit for splitting optic fiber. Fixation unit includes orientation device designed for fixation element orientation in a preliminarily defined direction around longitudinal axis of optic fiber against the splitting unit. Splitting unit is designed to split fiber in such way, that the end surface is not perpendicular to the fiber longitudinal axis. Fixation and splitting units are mounted in such pattern that the fiber end surface cut by the splitting unit was oriented at a given direction against the fixation element. Splitting unit includes a blade designed for fiber notching, forcing the fracture to propagate through the fiber and split it in appropriate direction.

EFFECT: obtaining satisfactory splicing with low optic loss.
