FIELD: instrument making.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a rigid coupling device for use in electrical insulation of electrically conductive fluid conveyance system. Rigid coupler includes a nonconductive liner having a first end configured to couple to a first adjoining section of fluid conveyance system, and a second end, opposite said first end, configured to couple to a second adjoining section of fluid conveyance system. Reinforcing structure circumscribes nonconductive liner and is coupled to a portion of nonconductive liner extending between first and second ends of nonconductive liner. Reinforcing structure includes a multi-axial braided fibre material impregnated with a matrix material. Fibre overwrap is hoop wound about at least a portion of reinforcing structure between first and second ends of nonconductive liner. Described is a method of producing rigid coupling device.
EFFECT: invention improves connection reliability.
