FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns ferrous metallurgy. Particularly it concerns smelting methods of rail steel in arc electro steel-smelting furnace. Method includes smelting of steel by series with feeding into furnace of scrap metal and liquid cast iron, melting, oxidising period with usage of oxygen gas, tapping with leaving of slag and part of metal in furnace, ladle addition during tapping of solid slag-forming mixture, deoxidiser and alloyings. Steel lancing by oxygen gas is implemented with intensity 80-120 nm3/h per ton of smelted steel. Before steel discharge from furnace during 0.5-4 min it is implemented insufflation of carbon-bearing material with consumption 15-100 kg/min.
EFFECT: improving of smelted steel, reduce flow of ferroalloys, alloying and oxygen gas, reduce flow of metallic charge and increase resistance of furnace brickwork.
