FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention pertains to electrical engineering, particularly to emergency control schemes and relay protection of high and super-high voltage power transmission. The essence of the invention lies in that, there is further measurement of voltage across the line and if two conditions are met - time delay exceeding disconnection time of switches of adjacent connections, and voltage across the line exceeding the 0.9Uphase level - an instruction is given for switching off, at least, one device for compensating reactive power.
EFFECT: reliable switching off of adjacent connections when there is break failure in a circuit of a power transmission line.
