FIELD: medicine, veterinary.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns veterinary. The method involves cutting navel cord at the distance of 10-15 cm from abdominal wall by disinfected tool, extrusion of residual blood from the navel cord, processing external navel part with 5% alcohol iodine solution, adherence to veterinary sanitation rules during calving, sustaining cleanness in natal section, and application of visceral novocain blockade for calf. Additionally, calving cows undergo immunisation twice, 1.5 months before calving, by animal escherichiosis vaccine Coli-Vac K99 with 15 day interval, with the first dose of 10 cm3 and the dose of 15 cm3. Simultaneously 5 ml of ligfolum is administrated twice intramuscularly to each animal. During visceral Novocain blockade the calves born of those cows receive single intramuscular injection of ligfolum in the dose of 0.1 ml per kg of body weight in 2-4 hours after birth. Right after birth internal navel part is cleansed by 5% alcohol iodine solution with syringe.
EFFECT: obtaining more strain specific immunity of cows before calving, high level of specific colostral immunity of calves ensuring reduced omphalophlebitis and navel gangrene incidence by calves.
