FIELD: veterinary science.
SUBSTANCE: 1.5 mo before calving cows-mothers should be twice immunized with the vaccine against escherichiosis with Coli-Vac K99 at 15-d-long interval. The first dosage corresponds to 10 cu. cm, the second - 15 cu. cm. Simultaneously with vaccination one should intramuscularly inject Selecor at the dosage of 10 mcg/kg body weight. It is necessary to carry out visceral novocain blockade in calves born from those cows. During the period of visceral novocain blockade one should intramuscularly once inject Selecor at the dosage of 10 mcg/kg body weight followed by treating the internal part of umbilical cord's sheath with 5%-alcoholic solution of iodine at the volume of 5 ml due to applying disposable syringes.
