FIELD: medicine, pharmaceutics.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns medicine, particularly pharmaceutics and method for obtaining a zinc selenite compound with neuroprotective effect. Zinc selenite is obtained by mixing aqueous solutions of zinc sulfate and sodium selenite at equimolar ratio. The solutions are stirred with a glass stick for 1-2 minutes until jelly-like and then solid sedimentation. The sediment is filtered, washed with water till negative reaction to sulfates, and dried at 100°C to reach permanent mass. Zinc selenite has ascertained properties of neuroprotective activity, i.e. reducing mortality, improving motor and orientation and observation activity, reducing anxiety, providing antiamnesia effect, improving movement coordination. Preventive administration of zinc selenite significantly reduces hyperperfusion manifestation and inhibits myocardium non-recovery phase development in post-ischemic period. The advantage of the claimed compound is constant zinc to selenium ratio in individual compound allowing flexible approach to dosage determination. Compared to sodium selenite, zinc selenite exceeds the prototype significantly in antihypoxic and nootropic effect.
EFFECT: obtaining zinc selenite compound with neuroprotective effect.
