SUBSTANCE: invention refers to ink printing devices. The ink cartridge 10 has the memory controller 15 which controls the sequence of operations including data overwriting in memory 14. The memory 14 stores the information, concerning an ink cartridge 10, for example, data about remaining quantity of ink in an ink cartridge 10. The actuation device 22 of the printer 20 issues an instruction to an ink cartridge 10 including the defined address, on performance of operation of data overwriting in memory 14 (or operations of erasing existing data from memory 14, or operations of writing the data to the memory 14). In reply to the produced instruction the memory controller 15 performs data overwriting to the defined address in memory 14 and dispatches back a response signal or confirmation meaning end of overwriting operation, together with the information concerning the address corresponding to the defined address. The processing control device 22 accepts the information concerning the address, and makes sure of, whether the data has normally been rewritten to the necessary address.

EFFECT: reliability increase of operation of data overwriting in memory.
