FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: in estimation of motor oil anti-wear additive quality, a reference oil sample is taken to be poured into the vessel housing a clamp fixing one end of a metal specimen, the other end of the said specimen is subjected to mechanical vibrations. The number of cycles till breakage of the specimen is recorded. Now, the additive to be estimated is added to the aforesaid reference oil, a similar metal specimen is attached as shown above and also subjected to mechanical vibrations with the same frequency and amplitude. A new durability value is recorded to be compared to the first value obtained. The result of the comparison allows defining the additive quality.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of the additive quality estimation.
