SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to rapid analysis of additives, lubricants, industrial fluids, including spent liquids, for assessing the actual state of internal combustion engines, transmissions, compressors and other equipment. Universal indicator for express-analysis of content of additives and serviceability of lubricating materials, obtained by impregnating fibrous materials with dimensions of 30 × 40 mm or 8 × 80 mm water-and-alcohol solution of the following composition, g: methyl orange 0.05–0.3; methyl red 0.15–0.3; bromthymol blue 0.3–50; alizarin yellow P 0.1–0.3; phenolphthalein 0.01–0.1; malachite green 0.01–0.05; red cabbage broth 5–20; cherry infusion or alcohol cherry infusion 0–5; tetraethylammonium bromide 0–9.0 as fixing agent; aqueous solution of ethyl or isopropyl alcohol 914.95–994.32 at temperatures of 10–60 °C. Invention also describes a method for rapid analysis of additive content and operability of lubricants and a method for rapid analysis of the actual state of equipment.
