FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: flying shear tool belongs to auxiliary equipment of rolling mills, particularly to crimped strip cutters (shears) into cut lengths. Flying shear tool for crimped sheet profile cutting includes upper and lower knives with cutting edges of given configuration, one of which features cutting edge parts tilted against its middle part. Lower knife features cutting edge dents with configuration matching crimp shape of a sheet to be cut. Cutting edge of upper knife includes three rectilinear parts, with middle part tilted at 1.0°...1.5° to horizontal line, while edge areas have length of 0.05...0.15 cutting edge length and are tilted down at 5°...7° to horizontal line. End tilted areas of upper knife can be made as inserts of material with hardness 1.2...1.3 times higher than the knife hardness. Lower knife dent number is 3...9, end dents can be positioned at 15...20 mm distance from end tilted areas of upper knife.
EFFECT: high-quality profile cutting of two crimped sheets.
