FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in device transmitting torque from the engine to the gear box operated, primarily, in overload and impact load conditions, including those of the gearbox locking. The toothed clutch represents mating gear wheels with equal number of outer teeth of the drive and driven half-couplings and that of external member teeth. The external member is arranged inside the barrel and kept therein by stop rings and represents a combination of the drive and driven parts engaged by their locking bodies, the balls, and the end surfaces spring-loaded by the compression plate springs arranged between lock rings on the barrel space end parts and thrust rings of the external member. Note here that the drive part end face surface features a drop-like recesses with the depth equal half a diameter of the locking body. The driven part end face of the external member surface feature the arc-like grooves representing differently-directed and mating drops. One of the groove is aligned with the hole the axis of which is perpendicular to the driven part end face surface and with the hole depth equal or exceeding the locking body diameter.
EFFECT: transmission of higher torques, higher reliability, longer life, smaller sizes, better manufacturability.
