FIELD: electrical engineering, chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: fuel element system incorporates a storage battery unit comprising a fuel electrode, an air electrode and generating electricity by electrochemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen, a fuel feed unit supplying hydrogen to the storage unit fuel electrode; and air feed unit supplying air to the storage unit air electrode and a residual gas storage unit accumulating residual hydrogen withdrawn from the storage battery unit or from the fuel feed unit, the said residual hydrogen being then fed back into the storage battery unit or the other system in need of hydrogen. If required, the fuel element system residual gas storage unit can repeat feeding hydrogen in the storage battery unit.

EFFECT: reduced stuff consumption in hydrogen production and lower costs.
