FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: surface of chrome-containing steel that has been recently created in the process of hot deformation is retained in water vapour atmosphere for generation of scale that includes FeO, then subsequent technological stage of hot deformation is carried out. More precisely, in manufacture of seamless steel tubes moisture is supplied inside hollow billet made by piercing method in order to retain recently created internal surface of coating in water vapour atmosphere to produce scale with FeO on internal surface of hollow billet, then the following process of stretching-rolling is applied.
EFFECT: decrease of surface defects and considerable extension of tool service life with low costs and simplified accessories.
