FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and can be used in pulsed stepless gears and transmissions. Idling sector clutch incorporates the outer holder and a number of spring-loaded locking mechanisms arranged regularly there between. Every locking mechanism represents lever, sector and spring the latter allowing the aforesaid sector to come into sliding contact with the outer holder inner surface. Note that this sector is pivoted on the aforesaid lever while the inner holder represents two rigidly jointed plates with a lever located there between. One lever end is hinged on the sector, its other end being hinged on the inner holder. Sectors represent two semi-rings, and the locking mechanism springs are arranged between the semi-ring ends.

EFFECT: idling sector clutch throw-in higher frequency, higher tolerable load and longer life.
