FIELD: physics, measurement.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to monitoring of technical condition of manifold pipelines and may be used for inspection of stop and control valves of gas pipelines by concentration method. Portion of indicator gas is injected in flow upstream inspected untight stop and control valve. Downstream stop and control valve indicator gas is registered by means of sequential sampling of indicator gas in known time gaps in one of N flow sections, and histogram of indicator gas concentration is prepared. Histogram is used for building of time dependence of indicator gas concentration. Prior to experiments commencement reference histogram and reference time dependence of indicator gas concentration are determined by the same method for reference stop and control valve at different positions of its control stopcock (different flow rates). Flow rate of transported gas through untight stop and control valve is determined by comparison of obtained time dependence with the reference one.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of flow rate control through untight stop and control valve.
