FIELD: physics, measurement.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to measurements of nonhydrocarbon component concentration, present in methane-containing gas mixture, by photo-acoustic method. Photo-acoustic spectrum of gas mixture absorption is registered in selected range of wave lengths during continuous passage of gas mixture through measuring device. Obtained spectrum is used determination of nonhydrocarbon component concentration in combination with photo-acoustic signal created by reference cell that is filled with gas with preset properties. Methane-containing gas mixture and nonhydrocarbon component preferably represent natural gas, which is supplied into pipeline, and water vapour, accordingly. Method makes it possible to measure content of water vapour in natural gas in low concentrations with high accuracy even in industrial conditions.
EFFECT: provision of high accuracy of measurement of water vapour content in natural gas.
