FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method involves periodic or simultaneous measurement of radiation absorption by an analysed gas at different wavelength combinations (from eight to nine wavelengths in each combination) in the infrared range, corresponding to centres of absorption bands of natural gas components. Said combinations are selected based on the category of the natural gas, which in turn is determined by preliminary measurement of radiation absorption by the analysed gas at seven wavelengths in the infrared range.
EFFECT: invention enables analysis of the component composition of natural gas mixtures in real time, which is enough to perform component quantitative analysis of natural gas mixtures of different composition in accordance with Russian and international standards.
