FIELD: physics, radio.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for application in UHF radiotechnics, in design of devices for UHF signal amplitude tuning. Technical objective is achieved by construction of reflector-type ultra high frequency attenuator including control elements, mainly diodes, in parallel connection to UHF energy feedline. To tap reflected power to resistive characteristic impedance termination, at the attenuator input or output side at λ/4 distance from the closest control element a feedline sector of λ/2 multiple length is connected parallel to the line (λ is UHF signal wavelength in feedline) and loaded to analogical control element, and focused or diffused resistive load R is connected to the feedline sector in parallel at λ/4 distance from the main line. Equivalent resistance of resistive load R is related to wave resistance of feedline sector ρ1 and wave resistance of the main feedline ρ by ratio:
EFFECT: reduced weight and dimensions of attenuator.
