SUBSTANCE: invention concerns stomatology and represents the abrasive precipitated calcium carbonate. Abrasive, in particular the precipitated calcium carbonate, is characterised by the size of primary particles from approximately 1 mcm to approximately 4 mcm and the size of units from approximately 3 mcm to approximately 10 mcm. The invention also concerns a method of formation of calcium carbonate, including stages of preparation of reactionary medium; simultaneous injection of carbon dioxide and water suspension of calcium hydroxide in the reactionary medium with formation of calcium carbonate with maintenance of constant pH in the course of reaction; and, unessential, drying of a suspension of calcium carbonate with formation of the dried up calcium-carbonate product. The invention also includes an agent for tooth care, containing abrasive, precipitated calcium, and one or more ingredients chosen from a group, consisting of dampers, thickening agents, excipients, pitches, stabilising agents, antibacterial agents, fluorides, sweeteners and surface-active substances.
