FIELD: medicine, dentistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of dentistry, in particular to an abrasive agent, which is a particle of silicon dioxide, having a median particle size of from 3 to 15 microns, the coefficient of oil absorption above 100 cm3/100 g, the plaque-removing capacity (PCR) at 20 % load of silicon dioxide at least 85 and the amount of abrasive wear of plexiglas in the range from 3.3 to 7.8, as well as to the compositions of the means for the care of teeth, including this agent.
EFFECT: invention provides for the creation of an agent with sufficient abrasive properties to be used in dentifrice compositions, and at the same time being soft enough not to injure the gums.
