FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: method involving evaluation of meat-type chickens according to their exterior, live weight at the 5-week age, muscles on the breast and legs, skeleton strength, egg production during 30 and 60 weeks of life. The additional factors to be taken into account are the quantity of eggs produced by the chicken during the first egg-laying cycle in the beginning of the egg production period, which shall not exceed 6 eggs, individuals with 7 or more eggs are rejected.
EFFECT: method allows to maintain egg production at standard level and select chicken with live weight of progeny above average one for lineup to 3.6-4.1%.
