FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture, in particular, to selection of poultry for selection. Method for selection of chickens and quails of meat direction of productivity includes assessment of egg production, weight of eggs, measurement of small diameter of eggs. At that, small diameter of 5 eggs laid by each female in chickens aged 224–238 days, and quails - 60–70 days of life. For further reproduction females carrying eggs with small egg diameter ≥0.5σ of average in flock are selected.
EFFECT: method allows to increase poultry live weight without reducing its reproductive abilities, as well as provides high accuracy of prediction of live weight of young stock.
