FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to engine production and can be used in the ICE valve gear. The valve drive cam incorporates rise and descend surfaces formed by the curve of the second derivative of follower travel along the cam turn angle and made up of section of positive values and section of negative values, both sections representing piecewise linear functions of the cam turn angle comprising a finite number of segments with the preset initial conditions at the positive value sections beginning and the negative value section end. At that there is a second derivative zero-value section between the negative and positive value sections, its angular expansion ϕ0 being defined by formula where ΔS is the difference between the follower travel values at the end of second derivative the positive value section and the beginning of negative value section, S'max is the first derivative maximum admissible value.
EFFECT: increased area under follower rise curve with follower travel first derivative constraint met.
