FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: silica particles of a defined size are added in a regulated way, to a solution of an inorganic acid, heated to 50-110°C with acidity equivalent to the acidity of hydrochloric acid with concentration of 10-37 wt %. The obtained silica is settled and separated from undissolved olivine and other minerals. Further the suspension is filtered and washed from dissolved metal salts. The obtained filtration cake is suspended in a water solution so as to obtain a silica suspension, which has low viscosity and 10-30% content of solid particles. The suspension is separated from the remaining mineral impurities and dried.
EFFECT: obtaining silica in form of powder, teardrop-shaped particles or granules with specific area of 100 m2/g with low content of impurities.
