FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a functionalized silica material, a method for producing it, to a rubber composition, and also to a rubber part such as a tire. Functionalized silica material contains silane-hydrophobized silane particles with a polymer elastomeric coating based on styrene-butadiene rubber. Ratio of hydrophobized silica to polymer is from about 0.3/1 to about 100/1.
EFFECT: functionalized silica material may be in the form of a free-flowing crumb or powder or in the form of a bale that can be admixed with the elastomer composition for a rubber part such as a tire component.
