FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: device for determining the angle of azimuth (gyroscopic compass) consists of inertial detection elements, installed on a cardan suspension with an angle sensing transducer on its inner axle, with provision for measuring signals of the detecting elements and the angle sensing transducer in a defined number of measuring positions relative the meridian plane and the horizontal plane. An angular velocity sensor and two tiltmeters (H1) and (H2) are put inside a thermostat, rigidly fixed to each other and with rotor of the angle sensing transducer of the inner axle of the cardan suspension, formed by a frame, inner and outer axles, through which they are rigidly fixed in a case, installed on the turning table of the unit of detecting elements of the gyroscopic compass. The detection axes (measuring axes) of the tiltmeters are perpendicular to the output axis of angular velocity sensor, such that the detection axis of H1 is parallel to the main axis of the angular velocity sensor, and the detection axis of H2 is parallel to the detection axis (measuring axis) of the angular velocity sensor. Besides that the gyroscopic compass has a control panel, electronic devices unit and a computer.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of measurements.
