FIELD: physics, instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to instrument engineering and is used in azimuth determincation. Gyrocompass comprises a sensing elements unit, which consists of a supporting body and a gimbal, where an angle sensor, a thermostat with an angular velocity sensor and tiltmeters, gimbal axes drives with contact mechanisms are installed. The distinctive feature of the claimed device is that an autocollimator or an autocollimator and optical reflector are installed at the end of the outer axis of the sensing elements unit gimbal. In this case, the optical axis of the autocollimator and optical reflector coincide with the outer axis of the gimbal. Also, the gyro block contains electronic devices, a personal computer and a control panel, connected to each other and to the sensing elements unit by means of connecting electric cables. Also, an autocollimator unit with a digital output for signal transmission to the computer is inserted into the electronic devices unit.
EFFECT: possibility to improve the measurement accuracy, increase of functionality.
