FIELD: physics: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: on the windings of the electrical machine, from the generator with adjustable pulse duration τ and delay time t3, a superposition of two pulse sequences with identical periods T and opposite pulse polarities is transmitted. The time delay between the pulse sequences is established as t3=τ. The duration of impulses t and time delay X3 is changed, achieving the arrangement of k harmonics which have maximum amplitude, at the frequency ω0=2kπ/T. Two sequences of impulses of rectangular form with the periods of recurrence T0=2π/ω0 are formed on transition points of k harmonics through zero. The value of voltage on the output of the phase detector, proportional to a phase difference of harmonics with the number n, where n=2p+1, p=0, 1, 2..., spectra of the received sequences of pulses is fixed. The phase windings successively change positions. From the change in the value of voltage at the output of the phase detector, it can be determined whether there is a defect in the corresponding phase winding.

EFFECT: an increase in the reliability of control due to an increase in the sensitivity.
