FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to mechanical engineering, specifically to shaft design, in particular to cardan shafts, and it may be used in transport vehicles' transmissions. The shaft contains central part in the form of tube made of composite polymeric material with affixed metal fixtures inside and casing covering tube, all coaxial. The affixed part is made as stepped bushing. The step of bushing from the zone of its transition to tube is made with axial slots, next step - with collars and shaft-stop from the outside. The casing is made as smooth polymeric coupling reinforced by high-strength fibre and possesses shape memory.
EFFECT: increase of shaft load-carrying capacity, decrease of shaft weight, design and assembling simplification.
