FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to the development of electric insulators design for overhead transmission lines and intended for the application at arrangement of trolley bus and tram lines as well to transmission lines of railway transport. In a suspended polymer insulator consisting of a bearing rod (1), eye lugs (3) placed at the rod ends and having openings intended for the insulator fixing and electrically-insulating ribs (2) placed in the transversal direction in regard to the rod longitudinal axis so that they cover the rod along its perimeter, all insulator elements are made as an integral structure of a polymer material, at that the rod has ribbed X-shaped cross-section with smooth transitions at the outer surface of longitudinal ribs, and feedthrough vents are made at points of the rod connection to the transversal electrically-insulating ribs and along its longitudinal axis and at least at its two longitudinal ribs placed in the same plane.
EFFECT: invention ensures the simplified design of the insulator, improves its operational reliability at the outdoor operation and simplifies its manufacturing technology.
