FIELD: physics; measurements.
SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to instrument making, to electromagnetic techniques of measuring flow rate, and can be used for measuring flow rate in pipes with electro-conducting liquids with a complex kinematic flow pattern. The electromagnetic flow meter has pipe, made from non-magnetic and non-electrically conducting material, two electrodes, magnetic core, two induction coils, power supply, a measuring and computing device, the input of which is connected to the electrodes, and an integrating device. The control circuits of the measuring and computing device are connected to the power supply and the integrating device. The flow meter also contains a commutator, the control circuit of which is connected to the measuring and computing device. The commutator has two switching positions for electrical circuits, one of which corresponds to serial connection of the induction coils to the power supply, while the other corresponds to connection of one of the induction coils to the power supply, with the second coil connected to the integrating device.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of measurement.
