FIELD: measuring techniques.
SUBSTANCE: proposed device for timing a laser range-finder comprises a first differentiator and a zero-comparator, and a second differentiator, connected in series to the first differentiator with differentiation constant τd'. 0.3tp<τd'<5tp, where tp is pulse duration at the input of the timing device.
EFFECT: provision for maximum accuracy of a laser range-finder in a wide range of measured ranges due to implementation of the zero intersection principle in the timing device.
