FIELD: instrument making.
SUBSTANCE: laser range finder incorporates a receiver and transmitter comprising radiator lens and laser radiator. When the latter operates, a body of glow is formed at the radiator outlet located in the radiator lens focal plane. The radiator lens is made up of first cylindrical component with focal length f1 and second cylindrical component with focal length f2, arranged perpendicular to each other and space apart from the radiator equivalent body of glow by l1=f1<a/α for the said first component and l2=f2<b/β for the said second component. Body of glow formed in operation of laser radiator can be directed so that the direction of its maximum size gets aligned with the maximum angular size of the irradiated object. One or several flat mirrors can be arranged between the aforesaid first and second components. The proposed laser range finder can be additionally furnished with a binocular sight and second transmitter.
EFFECT: increased range, smaller sizes.
