FIELD: physics; measurement.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to measurement technology and is aimed at hydrometry. Hydrometer contains chamber filled with tested liquid with vertical float from nonmagnetic material with permanent, as well as solenoid, inductive float position detector and stable current generator. The float of the chamber is mounted in two mutually coaxial pilot bearings and is additionally supplied with flux bar separated from permanent magnet and arranged in the float below permanent magnet. Inductive float position detector is designed as two identical bridge-connected inductance coils arranged one over another and coaxial with pilot bearings from outside of chamber bottom. The solenoid covers upper part of the chamber. Flux bar in the float is separated from permanent magnet so that if permanent magnet of the float is inside of solenoid with corresponding float position, flux bar is between inductance coils of measuring bridge.

EFFECT: higher sensitivity and accuracy of the device.
