FIELD: density measurement. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to precision measurements of density of liquid media, for example, crude oil and petroleum derivatives. Device contains measuring vessel, float with constant magnet disposed inside the vessel, measuring coil outside the vessel, analog-to- digital conversion unit, analogous control block, digital control and computing block, float position sensor containing induction coil. Invention is distinguished with its containing a fixing coil arranged in such a way that constant magnet in float, when the latter is completely submerged, is located in the region of uniform magnetic field of coil and, when completely floating up, in the region of nonuniform magnetic field of this coil. Fixing coil encompasses upper part of measuring coil and lower part of measuring vessel supported by upper end surface of measuring coil. Induction coil is disposed immediately over fixing coil. EFFECT: improved accuracy of measurements.
