FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns abrasive processing and can be applied in grinding operations on steel and alloys susceptible to grinding defects in the form of burns and cracks. Abrasive wheel is mounted between supporting and clamping flanges. Construction features compensation unit in the form of elastic annular element with variable radial stiffness zones. Compensation unit is positioned between external cylindrical surface of case and internal cylindrical surface of supporting flange. Number of variable radial stiffness zones n in compensation unit is determined by condition: n≥1.2 fown/fspindle where fown. is dominating frequency of flexural vibration of elastic aggregate system, Hz; fspindle is rotation frequency of aggregate spindle, Hz. As a result operational environment of grinding grain during grinding changes, facilitating intensive self-sharpening of abrasive wheel and improved access of fluid coolant into grinding zone, i.e. maintaining operation of solid abrasive wheel as if it were discontinuous.
EFFECT: prevention of burns and cracks on processed surface.
