APPARATUS FOR MOUNTING INTERMITTENT GRINDING WHEEL Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: machine engineering, possibly manufacture of abrasive tools for depth mechanical working of hard-to-form materials having tendency to formation of flaws such as burning and cracking. SUBSTANCE: apparatus for mounting intermittent grinding wheel includes adapter flange with bead having oblique end, pressure oblique flange and nut for securing wheel. Adapter flange has opening joined with spindle by running fit and end surface joined with spindle by means of balls. Torque is transferred to adapter flange by means of radial elastic plates arranged in planes passing through spindle rotation axis and placed in slots of opening of said flange between elastic members. On end of necking portion of spindle, of fastening nut and on two washers placed at both ends of adapter flange there are grooves for balls. Apparatus provides mounting of grinding wheel with axial shift of cutting layer and it allows to reduce thermal stress in working zone, to intensify working modes. EFFECT: enhanced operational reliability and efficiency of working, improved strength of tool due to smooth in-feed process at intermittent depth grinding. 1 cl, 6 dwg
